Tips for a successful post on Facebook or Instagram

How can I get more people to see what I post on Facebook or Instagram? What do I have to do for people to share, comment on, or like my posts?

We give you easy ways to improve your posting.

How do you know if a post works?

Define what success means to you before you even try to achieve it. Does it matter to you if people comment on the posts, share them more, or just read them?

Look at your past posts and decide what you want to accomplish with your future posts. best if at a certain time. For example, “I want more than 6 comments on my posts in the next 5 weeks.” Be sure to keep this wish in check so that it can come true.

Setting goals that are too hard to reach is frustrating. The goal can, of course, always be made bigger.

Which posting makes people do what?

Everything in social networks is based on how people feel. Think for yourself: Which posts would you comment on, like, or even share? Definitely the ones that you care about and that made you feel something, like anger, sadness, or joy.

  • Share
You share postings that you also want other people to see. Either because the information is very interesting or because you want to make someone else happy. Because of this, people share funny posts more often than serious or sad ones.
  • Comment
More people comment on posts that get people talking. Here, either a question is posed or a thesis that is often controversial is made.

Most of the time, the teaser already asks for feedback. This is known as a CTA (Call to Action). Be aware that these kinds of posts usually have to be approved first.

Keeping an eye on this is important, especially when talking about controversial topics, so that insults or fake news don’t happen during the discussion.

Likes: Most people give a post a Like, or a thumbs up, if they agree with it or just like it. So the post wasn’t necessarily interesting or something to talk about; it was just noted. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

People who liked the post are often shown along with their friends. This is another way to get more people to listen.

Do you know who you’re trying to reach?

Who are you making your posts for, to begin with? Who would you like to answer them? Would the people you want to reach even care? What are the needs and habits of the people you want to reach?

As you already know, Jam, your target audience is very important. Think about who you want to reach and why before you post. In the analytics section of Facebook or Instagram, it’s easy to see your subscribers’ ages, genders, countries of origin, and online times.

But that won’t do. Think of a real person who should respond to their posts. Here, it helps to make up different characters that you can act out. So, you can always check to see if your postings are on the right track.

How often should you post, and when?

Regularity is the key word. The more often you post, the more likely you are to show up on the timelines of the people you want to reach. No matter how popular a post is, it doesn’t matter if nothing comes after it.

You can also write more than one post about an important subject. Know that social networks aren’t just fast-paced. As quickly as a post shows up on a subscriber’s timeline, it goes away again.

So, if you want to tell people about something important, make several posts about it and spread them out over the course of the day or week. This makes it more likely that the information will be seen by your subscribers.

If you’ve already made a few posts, you can start to see in the “Analysis” section when the posts did the best. Here, the word of the day is “test and analyze.”

How does a post that does well look?

You can’t give a general answer to this question. Success is different for everyone, as we’ve already said. But we still want to give you some simple advice.

Often, a picture says more than a thousand words

Always keep in mind that most people read and look at your posts in the timelines of the people who follow you. People are more likely to stop on an image than on plain text when they are scrolling.

So, not only should the image be interesting, but it should also show the most important information.

The key is to be brief

Most people connect to social networks through their phones. Here, almost no one reads long texts. So, try to make your statement as short as possible while still getting the point across.

If you want to post a link to a longer article, try to give a teaser that shows what the article is about. Get the person to want more!

Add value

Most of the time, quantity is less important than quality. Think carefully about what you want to show your users and what this should give them. In addition to news and information, added value can also be a joke or a funny story that makes the user’s day.
